Latin American Law & Business Report Guest Article: Mexico's New Public-Private Partnership Act

In December 2011 the Mexican Congress finally approved a new piece of legislation called the Public-Private Partnership Act (“Ley de Asociaciones Público Privadas”). President Calderon proposed this law in 2009, seeking to complement private investment in public sectors, however two years passed until it was finally approved by the Mexican Congress. This new legislation still has to be signed by the President and published to become law.
